| Creating Instructors and Training Counselors with the Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes to Excel | ||
Register now for Instructor Training over Presidents Day Weekend weekend
Have you ever thought of becoming an NRA instructor? We welcome
those with shooting experience, a desire to teach and to learn, and an uncompromising
attitude about safety to become certified to impart to others the knowledge, skills,
and attitudes necessary for the safe use of firearms.
Pistol Instructor Training
Training begins with Basic Instructor Training, a 6-hour course of study outlining
policies and procedures governing NRA course delivery, and preparing candidates to
plan and deliver NRA courses, and order course materials from the NRA. Instructor
candidates take the lead for the remainder of classroom instruction, learning the
curriculum for each course by planning and delivering demonstration lectures. Home
Firearms Safety is covered on Saturday afternoon, Basic Pistol on Sunday, and Personal
Protection in the Home on Monday. During range exercises, instructor candidates
alternate acting as instructor and pupil to allow greatest understanding of live-fire
activities within the NRA course curriculum.

For all firearms courses, no ammunition is allowed in the classroom.
Precertification will be held at the Blue Ridge Arsenal in Chantilly, VA.
The cost for attending Instructor Training is $350 and must be paid in advance. $100 of tuition is non-refundable. Checks made out to Kenneth Elliott may be mailed to Kenneth Elliott, 8690 Young Court, Springfield, VA 22153. Mark the envelope on the optside with "NRA INSTRUCTOR TRAINING".

For those familiar with Arlington the location of the course is in Airport Plaza II in Crystal City and convenient to Reagan National Airport (DCA). NOTE: I am not in the street naming/numbering business - while the mailing address of the class location is the one given previously the actual location is at 2611 Clark Street which is just off of Jefferson Davis Highway and immediately by the bridge from Jefferson Davis Highway to Reagan National Airport. If you drive you will need to park in the lot to the right of the building.Contact (703) 413-2301 X1011 to Register or send e-mail to seminar@NVTCS.com if you have any questions.
